I am the daughter of an immigrant and a product of a bi-cultural household. Accordingly, I strive to provide safe, affirming, and culturally competent experiences for your child. I accomplish this using evidence-based research and my broad professional background to provide quality dental care. Keeping up with the latest advancements is how I stay current on pediatric dentistry. Each day provides a new challenge that I happily welcome.

Have you brushed and flossed your teeth like we discussed last time? These types of interactions – even the silly ones – help me to connect with you and your family and help reduce any dental anxieties.

I graduated from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. After a few years working post-college, I returned to school to complete additional coursework with the intent to study dentistry. Shortly thereafter, I matriculated at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry. I worked two years after dental school in both private and non-profit dental settings practicing general dentistry. Finding I had a strong interest and love for children, I pursued and further honed my skills as a pediatric dental resident at the University of Florida College of Dentistry in Gainesville, FL.
Oral health is a dynamic field. That’s why I keep abreast of emerging technologies, new treatment options, and dental techniques. I do this by attending study clubs, various conferences, and online courses. My goal is to provide your child the best care.
I’m married to my college sweetheart, Jonathan Barry-Blocker, and we have two beautiful daughters. Outside of the office, you can find me loving on my family or binge watching the latest Netflix “it” show. I also enjoy “throwing things together in the kitchen”, discovering new hobbies, podcasts, and a nice brunch! In the office, I am bopping and humming to my favorite Motown hits while providing my best dental care to your child. I love what I do because it is fun and mentally stimulating. Growing with your child, establishing a rapport, and empowering them about oral health is what I am passionate about.
